Technology in the Obama Administration  (Nov 2008)

This report examines the policy priorities of the Obama administration and discusses the potential role of technology in the implementation of those initiatives.

Description

The votes have been cast and President-Elect Obama is now preparing to transition into his new role. While he faces a significant economic crisis and tightening budgets, he will nonetheless work towards meeting at least some of the objectives set forth during his campaign. Technology has played a major role in the Obama campaign and provides the foundation for many of the proposed plans. While the priorities of the Obama administration will likely need to adapt to the changing fiscal environment, federal contractors could see new opportunities emerge in high-profile areas, such as healthcare, energy, and homeland security, that align with Obama's campaign promises.

This report includes:

  • An overview of Obama's first challenge - an economic recovery plan
  • Insight into Obama's policy and technology priorities
  • Recommendations for preparing for and positioning within the new administration
