INPUT Outlook for OMB's Lines of Business  (May 2008)

This report examines the viability of OMB's Lines of Business within an environment of budget constraints and the upcoming administration change.

Description

With the looming administration transition and budget constraints, there is uncertainty around the future of OMB’s Lines of Business (LoB) initiatives. The chances of most LoBs continuing into the next administration are high, primarily because they have shown progress in addressing apolitical government needs. However, contractors must adjust their strategies and expectations to align with the various types of LoB missions. While some LoBs are focused on transactional objectives, others are more focused on best practices. Contractors must be prepared to play varying roles within customer agencies as current and future LoB needs evolve. This report provides contractors with a framework and analysis for determining the viability of LoBs moving forward.

The report includes:

  • An assessment of current LoB environment
  • INPUT’s Viability/Impact Scores for each LoB
  • Recommendations for maximizing opportunities within LoB initiatives
This report also includes a supporting PowerPoint with detailed information about each of the nine LoBs.
