INPUT/Output:
Top 20 Federal Business Opportunities of FY 2009 (Oct 2008)
This INPUT/Output report examines the top 20 opportunities across the federal government, accounting for an anticipated $120 billion in contractual ceiling value.
Description
At the beginning of each federal fiscal year, INPUT identifies and assesses the top 20 federal contract opportunities for the coming year. This report serves to uncover key trends implied in the makeup of opportunities from one year to the next and to assist vendors in their business development planning. The FY 2009 Top Opportunities represent $120 billion worth of programs and is in many ways a contrast to the previous year's lists.
As a result of tightening budgets, Presidential transition and focus on GWAC/MACs in various agencies, 100% of this year’s opportunities are recompete contracts or consolidation efforts. The Department of Defense (DoD) accounts for 14 out of 20 Opportunities with a total value of $75 billion which is down from last year’s list where the DoD accounted for 95% of the total value of opportunities.
