Upcoming Event
This seminar is an opportunity for members of the technology vendor community to network with peers and interact with state executives.
Building upon his commitment to increase government efficiency through improvements to California’s information technology systems, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed an executive order last February that provided a road map for overhauling California’s technology infrastructure. The executive order includes mandates on standardizing IT governance and increasing transparency in spending to achieve greater cost savings, and defines targets to reduce IT operations energy usage by 30 percent by 2012.
Key California government officials will discuss the transformation of IT in California:
|
Teri Takai Chief Information Officer State of California |
|
Mike Locatis - Newly Appointed Deputy Chief Information Officer State of California |
![]() |
Tom Sheehy Undersecretary |
![]() |
Christy Quinlan Chief Deputy Director Office of the State Chief Information Officer |
|
Adrian Farley Chief Technology Officer Acting Director of Office of Technology Services, Office of the CIO |
The event will also feature Chris Dixon, manager, State and Local Government Analysis, INPUT. Dixon is the principal author of State and Local Information Technology Market, which offers a comprehensive review of technology and trends that impact the market. This year’s forecast illustrates that the demand for vendor-furnished information technology systems and professional services will increase from $52.8 billion in 2010 to 61.5 billion in 2015. He will identify how themes from his research apply to California and nationwide drivers — including the upcoming elections — that may influence the state’s technology environment. Dixon will also discuss major technology investments within the California and top opportunities for technology vendors in 2011 and beyond.
