Elizabeth Cusick

As the former Deputy Director at the Center for Medicare Management (CMM), an operating unit of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), Ms. Cusick was the senior career official responsible for payment policy and operation of the Medicare fee for service program. Ms. Cusick's responsibilities included oversight of the $1.6 billion budget which funds the insurance companies administering the Medicare program, as well as development of payment policy for all services reimbursed by Medicare. Ms. Cusick brings national subject matter expertise in many strategic areas, including health IT.

Prior to her position at CMM, Ms. Cusick served in several executive roles including chief financial officer, office of communications and operations support, and as the director of the health benefits and income security division within the Department of Health and Human Services. In these roles she became recognized nationally as an expert on public program management, financial management, and strategic planning and change management.

During her career, Ms. Cusick received many awards including a Presidential Rank Award as a Meritorious executive. Ms. Cusick graduated from Cornell University in 1972 and has done graduate work at George Washington University and the University of Southern California.
