Bring Home the Troops, Send Out the Bots!

We found two news articles interesting today. First, the House of Representatives voted, 149-141, with 132 Republicans voting "present," to reject 162.5 billion in supplemental funding to the Pentagon for the war efforts in Iraq and Afghanistan for the next year. We imagine that this is a political play that will be fixed by the Senate (if not the House itself), but it might cause temporary celebrations in Iraqi safe houses and Afghan caves.

At the same time, the Air Force is seeking advice on how to develop offensive cyber warfare capabilities for what it calls Dominant Cyber Offensive Engagement and Supporting Technology. As we suspected, part of the Cyber Initiative will be dedicated to counter-attacking. Interested IT vendors should suit up, metaphorically speaking.

It may be time to change our definition of body armor. Is this the end of Sgt. Bilko in favor of Henry Dorsett Case? Next they'll be saying that we may see a nerd elected President in my lifetime.
