INPUT Celebrates a Successful 2009 with the Government Contractor Community

Reston, VA – December 4, 2009 – INPUT, the leading authority on government business, hosted its annual holiday gathering on December 3.  The highly anticipated event is seen by many as the best networking opportunity of the year where industry, government and elected officials gather to kick off and celebrate the holiday season.  With a record number of guests, the community was able to continue its support for Toys for Tots with a truckload of over 600 toys presented to the Marine Corps.

The event is seen as the premier place to network within the industry.  “INPUT, as the largest provider of information services and analysis to the IT industry, is uniquely positioned to convene the region’s highly competivtive and educated workforce”  said Tim Dowd, President and Chief Executive Officer of INPUT. “This holiday party is a forum where INPUT members who are doing cutting edge work on behalf of the federal and state and local governments can meet with their peers and celebrate an outstanding year of service to the government community.”

A thriving government contractor industry contributes significantly to the local economy.  With indicators beginning to show that the recession has turned the corner, a positive and optimistic feel was in the crowd.  More than $200 billion in federal spending has gone to INPUT member organizations this past year, with sustained growth predicted for 2010.  The industry will continue to thrive.

“This event is a sign that the Washington, D.C. area economy is strong, thanks in no small part to the increase in government business from the economic stimulus and new administration initiatives that focus on technology,” said Dowd. “It has been a very good year for our members and INPUT, and for that we are grateful.”

Sponsors of the event included: Deltek, ECOMPEX, 1105 Government Information Group, NextGov, EcomNets, Edelman, NORC, NOVA Corporation, NOVA DataCom, Stanley Associates, Boscobel Marketing Media, Composite Software, Convergys, Criterion Systems, Futron Corporation, Ken Leiner Associates, Sentrillion, and TMR.
